GFCCA has a modern fish net making factory at Ramol Road, Ahmedabad since 1964. This is the biggest plant of its kind in the Co-operative Sector in the State of Gujarat. It is equipped with 25 machines, out of which 11 netting, 4 doubling, 6 bobbin winding and 3 heating and stretching machines imported from Japan and other matching implements. This plant has a capacity to produce about 180 MT of fish net per year. The fishing nets are made from Nylon Multifilament Twine, Nylon Monofilament Yarn and HDPE Twine. The nets manufactured from this factory are sold to the fishermen of Gujarat through GFCCA's own retail outlets at different locations as well as mobile vans. The nets are also sold to the state level federations in Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh States.
